I’m going to start this blog with a story. This is a story I told Joseph the other day and he seemed to enjoy it. I was shaving the other morning. I had no shirt on. I was looking at myself in the bathroom mirror and I decided to flex my chest and for the first time in my life something happened. Muscles flexed! I thought “Whoa! I should do that again!” I flexed again and it happened again!

January 22nd, 2013 is my one-year of fitness sobriety! That means I’ve been exercising regularly for the past year. Although I am a work in progress, great things have happened. That pain that I use to get in my back… well, it hasn’t happened in awhile. I have been replacing fat with muscle. I feel better during the day. I have created better habits, though I still enjoy beer.

I need to check my stats but I believe I’ve lost upwards of 15 pounds. I have gone from wearing an extra large top to a large. It’s a pretty awesome feeling to look at an extra large top and say to myself, “Too big”. I have gone from size 38 pants to a 35*. For those who don’t’ know size 35 pants is an awesome place to be! It’s the awkward size between 34 and 36, which are very common for men. Size 35 quite often goes on sale because the masses can’t wear it! Go me! I purchased a new belt and I started on the outer most hole. I am now into the third.

The only down side is there is some clothes that I have purchased that I quite enjoy but I can’t wear them anymore because they’re too big. All kidding aside this is a good problem to have. I would like to share some photos of myself and my fitness for the past year.

This would be me pre Motion Room.

This is a size 38 pair of jeans. They don’t fit anymore.

This is my latest jean purchase. They are already starting to get to big!

This is the first pair of pants that I have ever purchased that are a size 35. When Joseph measured me I was actually a 34.5 but who’s counting? Oh yeah! I am!!!

So what lays ahead! More fitness! I have made a lifestyle change and I have created some great habits in the past year. I don’t see myself turning back at this point. Thank you to the entire crew at The Motion Room for the past year and here’s looking to the next year and being twice as awesome on my second year of fitness sobriety!

BTW, this is one of my old t-shirts. It’s a little too big now.
