My fitness journey began one year ago at TMR. The start of 2015 was a turning point in my life. I just left an unhealthy relationship, and knew that I needed to make a positive change. I needed to bounce back to the happy and healthy version of myself that I once was.
My first step before joining TMR was to get my mind in the right place. I set a goal for myself that this year would be the year I put myself first. I made sure that I filled my life with as much positivity as I possibly could. I surrounded myself with people that made me laugh and feel loved, and hobbies that brought me joy. I cut off people that no longer brought me happiness and replaced them with ones that do. I learned that if someone can’t give you the love you deserve, you can do a pretty good job at doing it yourself.
I still remember my first class at The Motion Room. I could barely do two push ups, let alone complete the warm-up without being short of breath. I had to stop and rest nearly 15 minutes into the class because I was so light headed. That one workout really stuck with me because I had no idea that my body was in this kind of shape. It was a reality check for me. I needed to get my health back in order, and so I did exactly that.
From then on, I made sure to workout about 4 times a week and I am proud to say I have stuck to it ever since. I did everything I could to block out all the excuses I used to make and focus on where I wanted to see myself mentally and physically.
I am astonished at how far I have come since last year, and all the progress I have made. My health improved immensely. I no longer get sick as often as I used to, my energy levels are amazing and I am happier than ever. Working out also helped with my eczema, a skin condition I am proud to say has nearly vanished from my list of health concerns.
Everyone at TMR was there for me each step of the way. Not only did they motivate me to become a better version of myself, but I learned so many new things, and knowledge is something I can take with me wherever I go. From someone who started off with little knowledge about fitness, I am taking so much away from this amazing year at TMR.
Most importantly, TMR has sparked a lifestyle change for me. I am so glad I pushed through that first session and made it to where I am today.
This year, I want to challenge myself by discovering even more activities to keep me active and healthy. All I know is you can never stop making yourself a better person than you were the day before, and it’s never too late to start! Thank you for being so supportive of my fitness journey TMR!
